At college, math was my main focus, but I wanted to explore even further and took some design and photography courses to see how math relates to different areas. I was fascinated by the connection between math, design, and the universe, which is why math has always interested me.

Below, I have listed 25 utterly interesting books showing the beautiful connection between design and mathematics. I hope you also enjoy them!

Oliver Byrne: The First Six Books of the Elements of Euclid

Oliver Byrne’s masterpiece, “The First Six Books of the Elements of Euclid,” is my favorite geometry book. The colorful illustrations Oliver Byrne has used to demonstrate Euclid’s proofs and constructions are absolutely stunning and visually pleasing. Since reading this gorgeous book, I have grown to appreciate Euclid’s logical-visual way of thinking more and more as I realize how methodically he advanced through his texts. Whether you are an avid mathematician or just someone interested in design, Oliver Byrne’s work shows why this book is considered one of history’s most beautiful geometry books!
